What is
Children Only ESL/EFL?
We are a resource site for teachers of young
children and beginner ESL/EFL classes. We offer, for download, colored and
black and white flashcards, illustrated stories and games, songs and chants, a unique ESL/EFL
Class Party Manual, and teaching tips. Our material is available to
members only by subscription. The cost is $29.95 Canadian ($U.S. 19.70
approx.) for 1 year.
It is the only way to access our material. We
do not sell individual sections of the site by themselves. Instead, by
selling memberships, we give you the leisure to browse for and download
material at your convenience.
In a word: value. We offer material that is
essential to teaching young children classes. Material that, if you've
been teaching for a while, you know is the most difficult to find.
For $29.95 Canadian (an hour's wage for most
teachers), we save you time: time thinking of games, and searching other
ESL/EFL sites. We save you money. Game books are expensive, and rarely have
more than a few games specifically for young children classes. We also give you
stories and plays to entertain your little ones and improve their
listening comprehension.
And then there are the flashcards. Some
teachers have told us that our 750 flashcards (available for download in either
color or black and white) alone are easily
worth more than the price of subscription.
It includes access to all present content for the1 year period of
your
membership. There are no extra fees beyond the initial $29.95 Canadian
($19.70 U.S. approx.), and you may download
our material as many
times as you like. .
May I share my membership with another
person?
No. A password is for a single user only.
Sharing a password will cause your membership to be revoked.
Does Children Only ESL-EFL offer
refunds?
No. Because we allow users to view and sample
every category for free before subscribing, and because content cannot be
recalled or returned once it has been downloaded, we do not offer refunds.
May I save material on a external storage
device like a floppy disk, a Zip cartridge, or a CDROM/DVD?
No. You may only save material to the hard
drive of your computer. We stipulate this to minimize the risk that our
material will be (unfairly) used by non-members.
How may I use Children Only ESL-EFL content?
You are permitted to use COE content to instruct students (which may
include family members and friends). You may print out, photocopy and
distribute content to students as long as you are the main instructor and
the content will not be used by others to teach your students.
You are not permitted to:
- resell the content in either electronic or printed form.
- use material for an entire school system.
- loan any content, whether in printed or electronic form, to another
person.
- charge students and others for any COE material that is given to
them in the normal course of instruction.
- redistribute content in electronic form, including on floppy disks,
CDROM/DVDs, ZIP cartridges, and web pages.

Unlike other ESL/EFL sites, we develop all our
material in-house. We do not ask teachers to send in their
contributions, only their requests. In this way we ensure the high
professional quality, and usefulness of our material. Our artwork is
contracted out to Top Drawer Design
in Vancouver, Canada.
We specialize in supplemental material for
children classes (Pre-K, K, and Elementary). We know that schools often
give you the least amount of material and training for your children
classes. Often you are given just a textbook and a pat on the back, with
the expectation that somehow, as a native speaker, you will instinctively
know how to make 4 year olds love English. The material on our web site
will help you prepare the type of entertaining and instructive classes
that usually only the most enthusiastic and dedicated of teachers can
manage.
Do you have any material for adult or high
school students?
Our focus is on young children. However, much
of our material (for example, the flashcards) can be used when teaching
any level.
Both. Or neither. It depends on your needs. Our
games and stories and flashcards can be adapted to any teaching style or
methodology: even for the regular school system and at home use.
Yes. You may not
resell, or redistribute in any way, any part of the material found on the
Children Only ESL/EFL website, except as specified under terms
of use.
